MOSCOW, November 19 (RAPSI) – Investigators have filed a motion with the Basmanny District Court of Moscow seeking a restrictive order for auditor of the Auditing Chamber of Russia and ex-Governor of the Ivanovo Region Mikhail Men in a 700 million-ruble ($9 million) embezzlement case until January 18, the court’s press service has told RAPSI.
Investigators believe that in 2011 Men acting as Governor of the Ivanovo Region organized a criminal group to embezzle the budget funds allocated as a loan for the region’s support. Charges have been already brought against him.
On Wednesday, the Federation Council members granted permission to Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov for the arrest of Men.
Other defendants are ex-first deputy chairman of the Ivanovo Region’s government Pavel Konkov and Managing Director of the Ivanovo Broiler enterprise Dmitry Grishin.
