MOSCOW, February 1 (RAPSI) – Investigators have filed a motion seeking to put Kira Yarmysh, the spokesperson for Alexey Navalny, under house arrest until March 23 in a sanitary violation case, according to the Basmanny District Court’s press service.
She is suspected of violating anti-coronavirus sanitary and epidemiological rules during an illegal rally held on January 23.
Last week, several other opposition activists including Lyubov Sobol, Oleg Stepanov, Anastasia Vasilyeva, Pussy Riot member Maria Alyokhina and Navalny’s brother Oleg were put under house arrest on the same allegations.
According to the Interior Ministry, coronavirus-positive persons ordered to isolation were identified among the rally participants. A criminal case over violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules was opened over this fact.
