MOSCOW, March 15 (RAPSI) – A court in Mytishchi, a town in the Moscow Region, has sentenced a former judge of Moscow’s Kuzminsky District Court Ruslan Yakubayev to 4.6 years in high-security penal colony for receiving a bribe worth 500,000 rubles ($7,000) from a criminal case defendant, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.
Additionally, he has been prohibited from holding state service posts related to performing duties of a representative of authority for 4 years.
According to the court and investigators, in March 2019, Yakubayev received 500,000 rubles from an accused in a case over illegal trafficking in drugs as a bribe for taking decision on dismissal of an investigator’s motion for the defendant’s detention.
