MOSCOW, April 1 (RAPSI) – The number of administrative case complaints submitted to the Federal Ombudsman has increased due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to Tatiana Moskalkova.
In 2020, she received 480 applications concerning the rights protection during the consideration of administrative offence cases, while in 2019, 356 similar complaints reached her and 358 in 2018.
She linked the rise to the extension of administrative activity during the fight against the COVID-19 spread.
According to Moskalkova, 56 problems out of all filed complaints were solved in cooperation with prosecutors, police and regulatory authorities.
Citizens mostly complained about restrictive measures, arrests and bringing to liability for breaching movement instructions, failure to use individual protective gears and violation of the quiet order by other people, the Ombudsman said in her report.
