MOSCOW, April 27 (RAPSI) – A court in Russia’s Astrakhan has sentenced a local developer to 10 years in penal colony for the sale of apartments in buildings constructed without permission, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.

He has been found guilty of fraud. His actions have caused damage worth over 13 million rubles (over $170,000).

According to the prosecution, from 2015 to 2018, the businessman built two multidwelling units in the lots in the town of Astrakhan without the execution of design documents. Following that, he published the apartment sale offers and sold them to several local residents.
