MOSCOW, April 28 (RAPSI) – A court has detained a Moscow resident charged with funding the Islamic State, the international terrorist organization banned in Russia, RAPSI has learnt in the press service of the Investigative Committee’s Main Investigations Directorate.
According to investigators, from July to November 2015, the man transferred 200,000 rubles ($2,700 at the current exchange rate) to the terrorists’ accounts through an Islamic charity foundation.
As part of the case law enforcement raided his place of residence, seized his banking card used for financing of terrorism and prohibited extremist literature.
