MOSCOW, May 13 (RAPSI) – Moscow’s Nikulinsky District Court on Thursday sentenced MMA fighter Dmitry Sosnovsky to 8.5 years in high-security penal colony for participation in the kidnapping of a Moscow businessman and extortion, the press service of the Moscow Prosecutor’s Office told RAPSI.
Four other defendants Ruslan Mamatkulov, Andrey Kozlov, Ildar Salakhotdinov and Alexander Gladkov were also found guilty and received prison terms ranging from 4 to 9.5 years.
The court found that on October 22, 2019, the convicts along with other accomplices who are tried separately met the victim and forcedly drove him to an office. They voiced threats and demanded that the businessman waived his 400,000-ruble debt claims (about $5,500) against their familiar woman.They repeatedly beat the victim. However, the entrepreneur managed to escape and turned to police.
