MOSCOW, July 21 (RAPSI) — Russia's Supreme Court ruled that the government acted lawfully by putting COVID-19 on the list of diseases dangerous to humans, the press service of the court told RAPSI.

Thus, the court dismissed a complaint lodged by the Patient Protection League, an NGO that promotes civil rights. It filed a challenge to a government decree of January 31, 2020, which amended the list of diseases that pose a danger to others.

Earlier, the applicants had already appealed to the Supreme Court, but their claims were then also dismissed.

The contested resolution expanded the list of diseases dangerous to society with COVID-19. The applicants believe that they suffered damage because the organization was unable to hold a previously planned congress due to this act of the government
