MOSCOW, August 17 (RAPSI) – Investigation has been launched into an assistant of a prosecutor of Russia’s Primorsky Krai Damir Niyazov on bribery allegations, the Investigative Committee’s press service has told RAPSI.
According to the probe, in July, Niyazov mediated by an attorney and a former employee of the prosecutor's office tried to receive a bribe in the amount of 1.5 million rubles from an inmate for the support of his parole bid.
The lawyer was arrested and Niyazov failed to receive the money, the statement reads.
Niyazov’s alleged accomplices were put in detention.
