MOSCOW, September 22 (RAPSI) – Ex-Mayor of the town of Maikop in Russia’s Republic of Adygea Andrey Getmanov has received a 2.5-year suspended sentence for deal compulsion, large-scale fraud attempt and illicit ammunition storage, RAPSI has learnt in the Investigative Committee’s press service.
The court found that In May 2018 the defendant called a businessman engaged in the agricultural produce into his office room and demanded exchange of lands located in the Maikop district. The entrepreneur refused to conclude an unfavorable deal because of the plots’ inadequate square and cost. Then the accused began threatening him with the use of violence including murder, the statement reads.
Thus, the businessman accepted the former official’s conditions and met his requirements.
Moreover, Getmanov frauded his acquaintance and received 3 land plots in the Maikop district, according to the Investigative Committee.
