MOSCOW, September 27 (RAPSI) – The number of crimes in total has decreased by 0.8% in Russia since the start of the year, the Interior Ministry’s press service reports.

Thus, the number of robberies and assaults with intent to rob reduced by 19% and 18.5% respectively. The parlour jumping and car theft rates decreased respectively by 18.3% and 25.8%.

Moreover, between January and August 2021, the number of crimes committed by minors or with their participation downed by 16.7

However, the cybercrime rate upped. The number of crimes committed with the use of IT technologies increased by 12.7% in the first 8 months of 2021, according to the police statistics.
