MOSCOW, June 20 (RAPSI) – The Moscow Garrison Military Court on Monday sentenced ex-head of the Russian Aerospace Forces’ radar troops Andrey Koban to 5 years behind bars as part of a bribery case, the court’s press service told RAPSI.

The defendant was deprived of his Major General in reserve rank and banned from holding state service posts for 3 years.

The court also seized his assets to the amount of the bribe taken – nearly 12 million rubles (over $210,000)

The case was heard under a special procedure, without examining evidence because the former military official had signed a plea deal.

According to the case papers, Koban has received a bribe totaling about 12 million rubles from the top management of the Nizhny Novgorod radio engineering research and development institute for acquiescence during the execution of a state defense order.
