MOSCOW, July 11 (RAPSI) – The Moscow City Court on Monday increased prison sentence given to ex-investigator of the Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee Grey Efendiyev in a corruption case from 4 to 7 years, the court’s press service told RAPSI.
Moscow’s Basmanny District Court convicted and sentenced the defendant to 4 years in penal colony in February for mediation in bribery.
It was found that Efendiyev offered an investigative employee to get 5 million rubles in bribes through him for someone’s release from criminal liability. The employee acted in accordance with the set rules during the detection of a corruption crime. Thus, Efendiyev was arrested.
