MOSCOW, July 14 (RAPSI) – The facts of genocide of civilians during the Great Patriotic War have been established in the Bryansk Region, the Russian Investigative Committee’s press service reports.
During the occupation of the region the Nazis killed about 278,000 civilians and prisoners of war. These facts are confirmed by archive documents and investigative activities’ results, including interrogation of former prisoners of concentration camps and victims’ relatives, examination of grave sites and expertise conclusions, the statement reads.
According to the investigation, yet in October 1941 ordered by their commanders the Nazis killed 318 civilians in the village of Khatsun, including 60 children aged from 2 to 10 years.
