MOSCOW, August 26 (RAPSI) — A citizen of Ukraine has been arrested in the town of Kursk who was allegedly instructed by Ukraine's intelligence services to collect information about military infrastructure facilities, the press service of the the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reports.
A criminal case has been opened over alleged espionage activities.
Special technical equipment, transferred to the apprehended person by the Ukrainian special service, was seized at his place of residence; special literature on sniper training, survival, guerrilla warfare, reconnaissance and sabotage activities and the work of special services was found in the man’s personal computer and mobile phone, the FSB says.
Kursk is about 90 km (55 miles) from the Ukrainian border.
