MOSCOW, December 2 (RAPSI) – Russian lawmaker Irina Yarovaya encouraged the criminalization of online illegal drug advertisements during a State Duma roundtable discussion on drug prevention Monday.

A bill proposing criminal liability for drug promotion and advertisement is under the lawmakers' consideration. The draft law was recommended for consideration in the first reading in May, but additional hearings have been adjourned twice.

A bill that would require the representatives of some professions to undergo drug testing is also under consideration.

Earlier, President Vladimir Putin signed into law a bill banning the advertisement of pregnancy termination by medical services or traditional practices.
