Irkutsk, April 18 - RAPSI. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has proposed a law on drug testing for schoolchildren for the early detection of drug abuse.
"Unfortunately, we are forced to institute this law as drug addiction problems in Russia continue to grow," – the president said at the meeting of the State Council presidium in Irkutsk.
This policy has already been approved in the regions. However, according to the president, the subject is complicated by many parents who disagree with the policy. Medvedev has emphasized that although most of the objections are grounded in ethical reasons, many parents are simply frightened to let the truth about their children be known.
