GORKI, November 23 - RAPSI. President Dmitry Medvedev submitted on Wednesday a draft law on Russia's accession to the Convention on Combating the Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions.
"I would like to discuss one more issue. It is much talked about while discussing various subjects with our foreign colleagues. I have just submitted a draft law on Russia's accession to the Convention on Combating the Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions. We have been told on many occasions that this document has not been ratified and we have not acceded to it. Perhaps, its time to do so," he said during his meeting with officials of the Prosecutor General's Office, Interior Ministry, Investigative Committee and the public.
In Transparency International's recently published Corruption Perceptions Index, Russia was ranked last in the list of countries whose companies offer the most bribes abroad.
The survey covered 28 major world economies.
