MOSCOW, December 21- RAPSI. The State Duma has approved in the second and third readings a law substantially increasing prosecutors' salaries as of January 1.
The law proposes setting monthly bonuses for first deputy prosecutor generals and deputy prosecutor generals at five times their salary, four times their salary for the assistants of senior and regional prosecutors, and two times their salary for senior prosecutors.
The bill proposes increasing prosecutors' salaries on a phased basis by raising their bonuses for special service as of 2013. As of January 1, the increase will amount to up to 100 percent of their salary, up to 125 percent as of April 1, 2013, and up to 175 percent as of October 1, 2013.
Individuals who fulfill more than one job function at a prosecutor's office will receive monthly bonuses based on their salary as of January 1, 2014.
According to preliminary financial assessments, the adoption of the law will require additional federal budget expenses amounting to 7.185 billion ($233.6 million) in 2013 and 15.7 billion rubles ($510.4 million) in 2014. The funds for 2013 have been stipulated in the state budget.
