MOSCOW, August 10 (RAPSI) - A group of State Duma members representing the Communist Party drafted a bill on confiscating banned products and further donating those to people with small income or foreign states in need of humanitarian aid, Izvestia reports Monday.
In August 2014, Russia restricted imports of produce from the countries that imposed sanctions against Russia. This summer, the restrictions were extended until August 5, 2016. President Vladimir Putin also signed an executive order on destroying the banned products starting August 6 while the Government issued regulation on eliminating the prohibited imports.
The bill states that any imported banned products must be confiscated and transferred into Russia’s property. The authors suggest that the Government develops a procedure according to which every three months it will report to the media on how the products were used.
According to the bill, low quality products should be destroyed while the other banned products be donated to people with low income orsent as humanitarian aid to foreign countries.
