MOSCOW, November 17 (RAPSI, Natalia Belova) – Russia’s government has approved a bill authorizing the Interior Ministry to determine deportation procedure for foreigners and stateless persons by agreement with the federal executive authorities.
The document will be submitted to the State Duma, the government’s statement reads.
Amendments are proposed to the Law Concerning the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation. The bill has been drafted by the Interior Ministry in accordance with the instruction of the President.
Earlier, the order of deportation was determined by the Federal Migration Service. Following the service’s abolition and transfer of functions, the Interior Ministry has not been given these powers. For this reason, the bill has been drafted.
