MOSCOW, April 11 (RAPSI) – Russia’s business ombudsman Boris Titov has backed a bill authorizing qualification boards to take disciplinary actions against judges, according to a statement on his Facebook page.
The State Duma is expected to consider amendments to the law on bodies of the judiciary in May.
If the bill is adopted, qualification boards acting as bodies of the judiciary will be given authority to hold judges disciplinarily liable after rendering of interlocutory rulings along with court chairmen, the statement reads.
Titov added that it is also necessary to give the Supreme Court a mandate to reverse patently illegal rulings delivered by lower courts.
