According to the package of amendments to the Administrative Violations Code, operators of personal data, including state bodies and other organizations, are to be punished for violating the law on personal data prohibiting its disclosure to third parties.

The law also reads that operators must record, systematize, store, clarify and recover personal data using databases located in Russia. Failing to do so may also result in fines of up to 75,000 rubles ($1,207), according to the ministry’s proposals.
