MOSCOW, June 7 (RAPSI) – The State Duma has passed in the third and final reading a bill granting the Interior Ministry a right to determine the procedure of foreigners’ deportation after consulting with federal authorities.
The bill introduces changes to the law on legal status of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation.
If a federal agency issues a provision stating that it is undesirable for a foreign citizen to stay in Russia or to enter the country, then within three working days such provision is to be transferred to the regional Interior Ministry body.
Earlier, such powers were in the competence by the Federal Migration Service. After it was disbanded the Interior Ministry was not provided with these powers.
