MOSCOW, May 30 (RAPSI) – Relatives of hospitalized patients will be allowed to visit them in emergency wards, according to the law signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The law will oblige healthcare organizations to allow parents, other family members or legal representatives of patients to visit them in hospitals’ units including those designated for delivery of aggressive medical therapy and resuscitation procedures.
A procedure of access to emergency rooms is to be developed by the Russian Health Ministry, the documents stipulates.
Amendments will be introduced into the law on fundamental healthcare principles.
The State Duma adopted the initiative on May 21; the Federation Council backed it on May 22.
