MOSCOW, June 13 (RAPSI) – A group of Just Russia lawmakers headed by Sergey Mironov submitted a bill on compensations for unwarranted prosecution and custodial restraint to the State Duma on Thursday. The document was published on the database of the parliament’s lower house.

Under the draft law, a sum of compensation for moral harm caused to a person by illegal prosecution during investigation and trial without imposing travel restrictions, ban on certain actions, house arrest or detention would be fixed by a court but would equal to 1,000 rubles ($15.5) for each day of prosecution.

People detained or imprisoned illegally as well as individuals subject to medical or disciplinary measures would be eligible for compensations at least equal to 15,000 rubles (over $200) for each day of prosecution.

Compensations for illegal travel restrictions, ban on certain actions or house arrest would at least equal to 5,000 rubles ($80) for each day of a person’s being under a measure of restraint.
