MOSCOW, June 18 (RAPSI) – Russia’s Cabinet of Ministers has submitted a bill on legal regulation of supplying information on the state of environment to the State Duma, a statement released on the government’s website reads.
The bill legislates the concept of environmental information and set the order of access to it. The initiative provides that this information will be publicly available, and authorities will publish it online as open source data.
These steps will simplify access of individuals and companies to the ecological information.
Russian government will be authorised to approve the list of publicly available information on environmental health published on the Internet.
Amendments are proposed to the law On Protection of Environment.
