MOSCOW, June 27 (RAPSI) – A bill regulating the law enforcement bodies’ power to repress the use of air drones by citizens for unlawful purposes has been submitted to the State Duma, according to the information published on the website of the parliament’s lower house.

The initiative is aimed to fill gaps in present legislation by defining powers on this matter of Russia’s National Guard, Federal Guard Service, Interior Ministry, Federal Security Service and Foreign Intelligence Service.

According to one of the document’s authors, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Counteracting Corruption Vasily Piskarev, the draft law would authorize these bodies to identify a drone, get onto its external pilot in all circumstances or change its flight path without damages.

If a drone threatens someone’s life or health or endangers the security of strategic or critical infrastructural facilities its flight may be forcibly stopped by law enforcement officer, the bill reads.
