MOSCOW, July 3 (RAPSI) – The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has fined Philip Morris Sales and Marketing 100,000 rubles ($1,600) for e-mail spamming with advertisement of L&M cigarettes, the watchdog has stated on its website.
Earlier, the FAS found that the company had violated legislation by sending forward address email messages containing the smokes’ description and aimed at attraction of attention, forming interest to the goods and their promotion, the statement reads.
Such actions, according to the watchdog, are contrary to the advertising law banning any advertisement of tobacco products and smoking accessories.
