MOSCOW, September 25 (RAPSI) – Russia’s State Duma adopted a bill on tax benefits for citizens, who had suffered from terrorist attacks, natural disasters and other emergency situations in the third and final reading on Wednesday.

The bill was drafted in the fulfillment of the order of President Vladimir Putin. Amendments are proposed by the government to the Tax Code of the Russian Federation.

Thus, under the bill, terrorism and emergency victims would not pay personal income taxes for proceeds received in material and natural forms and financial benefit including debt release. Moreover, their family members would be exempt from paying taxes for welfare assistance.

The incomes would be exempt from taxation despite their sources.

The document is retroactive and will touch victims of natural disasters occurred since the start of 2019.
