MOSCOW, October 17 (RAPSI) – Russia’s Cabinet of Ministry has submitted a bill on the order of computation of a community service term to the lower house of Russian parliament. The document’s version has been published on the State Duma database.
Amendments are expected to be introduced in the Penal Code of the Russian Federation.
In July 2018, the Criminal Code of Russia was amended by provisions equating one day in detention with two days of community service. However, the Penal Code still sets that a detention term as restrictive measure until sentencing is equal to one day of community service.
The bill is aimed to bring provisions of the codes into compliance.
