MOSCOW, December 3 (RAPSI) – On July 1, 2020, the law on obligatory installation of Russian software on certain technically sophisticated goods signed by President Vladimir Putin will come into force.

The initiative gives Russian companies legal routes for promoting their programs, an explanatory note to the document reads.

The list of such gadgets will be approved by the Russian government, according to the bill. Smartphones, computers and TVs having the smart-TV function are named among devices facing Russian soft installation.

Amendments are to be introduced in the law On Protection of Consumers' Rights.
