MOSCOW, July 21 (RAPSI) – The State Duma passed a bill prohibiting officers and veterans of the Federal Security Service (FSB) from breaking so-called professional secrets in the second and third readings on Tuesday.
Amendments are to be added to the Law on the Federal Security Service.
Military servicemen, federal state civil servants, FSB employees and people dismissed from the security service must keep the information secrets concerning the bodies’ activity containing professional secrets.
According to legislation, professional secret is information saying nothing about state secrets or other secret protected by law but its disclosure or distribution may endanger inherent security of the federal security bodies or dent their reputation.
Moreover, information containing professional secrets will be assessed by experts in the Federal Security Service before its public declaration. Its dissemination is banned without this examination. The professional secret information list and its assessment order are to be approved by the FSB chiefs.
