MOSCOW, August 20 (RAPSI) – MP representing the United Russia party Andrey Baryshev has submitted a bill abolishing a motor vehicle tax to the lower house of parliament, according to the State Duma database.
Earlier, Russia’s President and public members repeatedly voiced an idea to drop the transport tax in favor of reimbursemen of shortfalls in income from the fuel excise duties, an explanatory note to the bill reads.
Such a refill, the initiative’s author believes, will lead to the equitable distribution of costs defrayal encumbrance related to the road infrastructure development in the counry.
If adopted the amendments would come into force on January 1, 2021.
