MOSCOW, January 11 (RAPSI) – A bill envisaging that state protection is to be granted to the personnel of the Interior Ministry, the military, and the National Guard has been submitted to the lower house of the Russian Parliament, according to a statement on the State Duma official website.
The document introduces legislative changes permitting to apply the state protection means (where there are respective grounds) with respect to the said categories, an explanatory note to the bill reads.
The bill was developed by Chair of the Committee on Security and Countering Corruption of the State Duma Vasily Piskarev and Chair of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Alexander Khinshtein.
Currently, the state protection means including measures aimed at ensuring of confidentiality of protected persons may be applied with respect to prosecutors, investigators, penitentiary officers, personnel of FSB, Investigative Committee, Bailiff Service, State Guard, officers of customs and tax agencies, antimonopoly service, federal public oversight agencies, Federal Financial Monitoring Service, Account Chamber.
