MOSCOW, January 21 (RAPSI) – The Government Law-Making Commission has approved a bill on the humanization of criminal responsibility for healthcare workers, the press service of the Association of Russian Lawyers has told RAPSI.
Earlier this year, President Vladimir Putin instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to ensure submission of corresponding amendments to the Criminal Code.
The initiative envisages relief of doctors from criminal responsibility for the loss of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by inadvertency, the Association’s Chair Vladimir Gruzdev said. Such cases, under the draft law, are to be investigated by a special commission.
According to the official statistics, between January 2016 and July 2019, 15 cases over breaching the rules of distribution of narcotic drugs against medics.
