MOSCOW, March 9 (RAPSI) – The lower house of Russian parliament passed draft laws bringing Russia’s Land, Housing and Labor Codes into line with the Constitution in the first reading on Tuesday, the State Duma website informs.
Earlier, the priority of the constitutional provisions over the standards of international law was constitutionalized. However, according to existing norms of the Land, Housing and Labor Codes, if an international treaty with Russia envisages rules differing from Russian legislation, the international agreement’s rules are applied. The new bills are to change this order.
The legislative proposals are to bring the Codes’ provisions in line with the Constitution as to ensurance of its supremacy within the Russian Federation.
