MOSCOW, May 14 (RAPSI) – Russia’s Cabinet of Ministers plans to prohibit the capture of dolphins and whales within commercial and coastal fishing, according to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The Government proposes additional regulation of such fishing. A new legislative proposal is aimed to defend the animals from severe hunting, Mishustin said during the Cabinet’s meeting on Friday.

In late 2020, Russian authorities toughened requirements to rules of capturing dolphins and whales which are used for educational and entertainment purposes.
