MOSCOW, August 31 - RAPSI. The Interior Ministry has completed the preliminary investigation into a criminal case against businessmen suspected of forgery and large-scale fraud, the Interior Ministrys Investigation Department told RIA Novosti.
The suspects used forged documents to obtain a $730 million loan from BTA Bank supposedly to purchase a 2,500 hectare land plot in Domodedovo in the Moscow region to construct villa communities.
The bank approved the land loan and transferred the sum in May 2007 to the bank accounts of six offshore Seychelles companies owned by the businessmen.
The criminal case has been submitted to the Prosecutor Generals Office to approve the indictment.
