MOSCOW, October 4 - RAPSI. The antimonopoly service allowed B.S.A, a French dairy manufacturer, to acquire Russian assets of Italian food producer Parmalat, the service reported.
B.S.A is a part of Lactalis Group, a world's leading dairy producer.
B.S.A obtained the right to control several Russian dairy and food companies after it acquired a 71.03 percent in Parmalat S.p.A. B.S.A now owns a 100 percent interest in Parmalat.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service approved the acquisition on August 16, 2011.
Founded in 1933, Lactalis Group operates 125 dairy and food plants and employs 38,000 people. It operates several brands namely President, Bridel, Lactel, Galbani. Lactalis sell its products in 160 countries.
Parmalat is an Italian food group engaged in production of milk & dairy products and fruit-based beverages. It was established in 1961 and now operates in 16 countries. It entered to the Russian market in 1991.
