MOSCOW, November 28 - RAPSI. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has suggested e-mailing traffic fine notices registered by video cameras to drivers.
Sobyanin, Traffic Police head Alexander Ilyin and municipal officials held a meeting on board a Moscow bus on Monday morning. During the meeting, Ilyin said it is too difficult to send fine notices to drivers through the regular mail.
"In the future, each driver should have be required to have an e-mail address in order to receive fine notices. It will be more convenient for everybody," the mayor said.
Ilyin also observed that as little as 35 video cameras have so far been installed along designated mass transit lanes, which he said is insufficient.
The Interior Ministry's Moscow Department and the Bailiffs Service have agreed that if a fine is not paid within 40 days, bailiffs should be sent to collect the fine.
