CHELYABINSK, October 8 - RAPSI. The Central District Court in Chelyabinsk has declared that a film posted online about the Hizb ut-Tahrir terrorist organization is extremist, the local Federal Security Services (FSB) branch reported Monday, without indicating the date of the ruling.
The FSB maintains that "The History of the Hizb ut-Tahrir and the Reasons for its Emergence," a film by Chelyabinsk XT Media, was posted on various social networks. The film promotes the organization, the ideology of Islam, global jihad and an armed struggle with those of other religious beliefs, and provides justification for the destruction of Russia and the establishment of a Muslim state on its territory.
In addition, experts claim that the film makes use of many tricks and means of influencing viewers' psyches.
The court has ruled to have the film deemed extremist and placed on the federal list of extremist material, which currently contains over 1,400 titles.
The Hizb ut-Tahrir international organization was recognized as extremist and banned in Russia by the Supreme Court on February 14, 2003.
