ISTANBUL, November 23 - RAPSI. The Interior Ministry has called on the police in 51 countries to join a special operation to find child porn on the Internet, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev said in Istanbul on Friday at a meeting between Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation interior ministers.
During the meeting, he told his colleagues about Operation Weed, which is conducted by the Russian police. Its goal is to collect information on individuals distributing child porn on the Internet. Some 1,500 users from 64 countries distributing such content have already been found.
"As the operation has become global, the Interior Ministry has urged the law enforcement agencies in 51 countries and five international organizations to follow suit," Kolokoltsev said.
He added that Russia has great experience in stopping cross-border crimes in the field.
