MOSCOW, March 4 - RAPSI. RusHydro has forwarded the documents needed for opening a criminal probe against its debtors to law enforcement agencies, the hydroelectric power plants' operator said in a statement.
Its debtors include electricity suppliers Energostream (total debt 1.1 billion rubles or $36 million), Dagestan Energosbyt (479.6 million rubles/$16 million), Energoaviakosmos (27.3 million rubles/$891,000), Ingushenergo (50.2 million/$1.64 million) and SevKavkazenergo (351.7 million rubles/$11.5 million).
RusHydro also said that it plans to file a request with the ministries of energy and internal affairs to have current legislation expanded so as to preclude similar situations from arising.
The company said in its statements that the commercial courts had ruled to collect over 1 billion rubles ($32.6 million) from its debtors and that the enforcement orders had been forwarded to the court bailiffs.
RusHydro is Russia's largest power generating company comprising 60 renewable energy plants.
