MOSCOW, June 11 (RAPSI) - Russia is appalled at the murder of a 15-year-old boy by Syrian militants and urges all the parties to the conflict to observe human rights and international humanitarian law, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Radical Islamists fighting against the Syrian army shot a 15-year-old boy in front of his parents in Aleppo on charges of blasphemy, AFP reported on Monday. "We are outraged by the report of the 15-year-old boy killed in Aleppo by the militants for blasphemy," the Ministry said.
The Foreign Ministry expressed hope that those who support or sympathize with the Syrian militants would use their influence to help curb the ongoing string of humanitarian crimes committed by the armed opposition, including kidnappings, torture and the murder of civilians.
The most recent tragedy has again confirmed the growing need for the conflict to be resolved as soon as possible and for the stabilization of Syria's humanitarian and human rights situation which would stop violence against civilians, reads the Foreign Ministry's statement.
