RASSYPNOYE, Donetsk Region, July 18 (RAPSI) – A fragment of the crashed Malaysian plane’s wing with shrapnel holes has been found near Rassypnoye, a village in the Donetsk Region, representatives of Ukraine’s Emergencies Ministry told RIA Novosti.
A Malaysia Airlines Boeing-777 flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed near the city of Donetsk on Thursday. All of the 298 people on board were killed.
“We can’t say what kind of weapon was used against the plane, but we have seen shrapnel holes,” a ministry employee said. This could mean that a missile exploded near the plane, spraying it with shrapnel.
According to RIA Novosti, international experts have not yet arrived at the site, where only Ukrainian Emergencies Ministry personnel from nearby cities are working. Together with local miners, they are placing marks near the dead bodies.
