MOSCOW, August 13 (RAPSI) – Russian businessman Dmitry Tretyakov has filed an application with the Samara Region Commercial Court seeking legalisation of prostitution, RAPSI learnt in the court Wednesday.
The businessman wants the procedure for obtaining permits for providing sex services to be adopted. He is also seeking revision of several articles on prostitution of the Russian Criminal Code and he Russian Code of Administrative Offenses. Notably, the businessman demands Article 240 (recruiting individuals to engage in prostitution), Article 241 (organization of prostitution) of the Criminal Code and Article 6.11–6.12 (engaging in prostitution) of the Code of Administrative Offenses to be decriminalised.
The application concernes the Russian Interior Ministry, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Federation Council and the State Duma which are on the list of the defendants.
Preliminary hearings are set for September 4.
