MOSCOW, August 20 (RAPSI) – Moscow police have opened a criminal case after Ukrainian flag appeared Wednesday atop the city's Stalin-era skyscraper, RIA Novosti reported.
Following the incident, a criminal case has been opened under Article 214.2 (vandalism) of the Russian Criminal Code.
Ukrainian flag was placed on the spire of the skyscraper on Kotelnicheskaya Embankment in central Moscow. The Soviet star on the spire was painted in the national colors of Ukraine.
Five Muscovites with special climbing equipment have already been detained by police. If convicted they face up to three years in prison.
