MOSCOW, January 29 (RAPSI) - Russian authorities have brought new charges against Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko who stands accused of complicity in the murder of Russian journalists, RIA Novosti reported on Thursday, citing her lawyer Ilya Novikov.
Savchenko is suspected of unauthorized crossing of border, according to Novikov.
Russian journalists Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin were killed last June in a mortar attack in the vicinity of Metallist and Mirny, small towns near Lugansk in eastern Ukraine.
Savchenko called in artillery fire via radio, according to Russian prosecutors.
She denies the allegations and says that she is not linked to the death of the journalists. Moreover, Savchenko claimes that she was kidnapped. She was forcibly transported to Russia in handcuffs and with a sack over her head after being captured near Lugansk last June, according to her lawyers.
