MOSCOW, February 16 (RAPSI) – All-Russian conference of judges will begin in Moscow on Tuesday with representatives of the key Russian courts in attendance, RIA Novosti has reported.
Conference will take place until February 19. Russian President Vladimir Putin is going to make a speech in front of the judges, his Press Secretary Dmitriy Peskov said to journalists.
The Chairman of the Supreme Court of Russia, Vyacheslav Lebedev, will be present at the conference as well as representatives of various federal agencies and civil society.
The conference participants are expected to discuss problems of judicial system development. One of the pressing issues is an empowerment of jury trial. Earlier President Putin said that jury trials should play a greater role in judicial system by empowering their position and decreasing the amount of juries in each board.
